Responsibilities:
The Project Associate in Global Sample Management (GSM) will support a veritable cornucopia of activities for the GSM business. The associate will work scientists and management to understand their needs to deliver the LRL portfolio and will subsequently plan production work performed by an insourcing staff. As a subject matter expert the associate will support the development maintenance and enhancements to related software systems in support of sample management. The position also involves execution of purchasing inventory items needed to operate the sample business and ensuring compliance with all relevant GSM business.
The Sample Management Project Associate position includes the following
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for global planning and priority decision making for sample related portfolio delivery in collaboration with LRL and Discovery leaders in alignment with their strategies.
Responsibilities also include developing forecast models, analyzing metrics for ecosystem optimization through six sigma or analyses of business operations.
Accountable for global planning and optimization of workload and prioritization of work across a globally distributed network and translating work into plan schedule for insourced staff to deliver.
Accountable for assigning the appropriate route for of material from partners to ensure delivery to the appropriate LRL assay.
Accountable for portfolio related capacity analyses within the GSM business.
Developing, maintaining and enhancing systems, tools and validation documents to support global sample production, integrated preparation workflows for sample delivery.
Testing and validating systems and tools associated with global sample production, integrated sample preparation workflows and sample delivery.
Experience with business process engineering and software development life cycle including analysis, design, testing and implementation of R&D applications.
Subject matter expert for sample data.
Ensuring findings and issues from internal and external audits are addressed.
Execution of purchasing inventory items needed to operate the sample business.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant GSM business.
Interface responsibility with partners such as Covance, Fisher, Trade Winds, and Cintas.
Provide direction to impact processes and make decisions on procedures to ensure effective and efficient insourcing operations in support of sample production business activities.
Update or challenge historical SOPs and where appropriate write globally oriented SOPs in support sample production.
Assist in maintaining SOPs that describe the daily work performed by an insourcing and outsourcing partners.
Design and implement a process used by insourcing staff to prepare work product in support of innovation ecosystem strategy.
Direct insourcing staff on production business activities to deliver on the LRL portfolio.
Basic
Qualifications:
BS in chemical, biological or engineering sciences, or >3 years of sample management experience in using sample systems, stewarding sample data, or managing sample inventories.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
The candidate should have experience with databases or Structured Query Language or experience with laboratory automation.
Experience with automation and samples systems would also be useful.
Candidate must have strong computer, organizational, and communication skills.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
