Responsibilities:
Work cross-functionally to evaluate Elancos targeted spaces and opportunistic areas against the latest scientific discoveries, identify emerging customer unmet needs and provide recommendations on how to execute against these opportunities.
Oversight of the daily activities for the R&D Competitive Intelligence team providing Early Warning & Landscape threats to Elancos innovation portfolio.
Create a process to integrate patent information into Refinement and Development plans, resulting in CI analysis for R&D decision gates.
Create the process for determining the strategic fit of new opportunities within our targeted spaces by considering how well the opportunity meets the Indication label, the competitive landscape and fits with other opportunities within the current innovation portfolio.
Increase pipeline value based on recommendations around synergies between different technologies and platforms within the portfolio.
De-risk the portfolio based on recommendations for the types of innovation within target spaces.
Basic
Qualifications:
Degree in Veterinary medicine (DVM) or Ph.D. in Biology/Physiology/Animal Science areas preferred.
Qualified candidate must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this position.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
MBA in addition to DVM or Ph.D. preferred.
Previous experience with a global animal health company with both commercial and R&D innovation experience preferred.
Working knowledge of food and/or companion animal health markets preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and team building skills and maintains a track record of building collaborative scientific relationships.
Demonstrates the ability to identify scientific issues, make decisions and solve problems, both individually and with partners in functional groups
Delivers timely, high quality data and interpretations to drive key innovative solutions.
Advanced analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; develops presentations and writes reports and summaries with thoroughness, clarity, brevity, and business acuity.
Business acumen with financial background in analysis and interpretation of business cases and methods of obtaining and measuring customer valued attributes.
Proven track record of positively influencing in the absence of direct authority and communicating across diverse internal and external groups.
High learning agility related to disease and scientific information for multiple species.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills; must be willing to work independently in an ambiguous, high-paced environment and able to adapt to fast-changing priorities and workload.
Position requires 10% travel (including international).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
