WIC CLINIC ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION
Summary:
ICAP is a private, non-profit agency mobilizing private and public sector resources to help low and moderate income people improve their living conditions.
The Women, Infant and Children's Program provides nutrition information and support to pregnant women, post-partum women, infants and children up to age five.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or its equivalent A minimum of one year clinical experience in Health Care setting is preferred.
Basic oral and written communication skills Excellent time management skills, ability to work well under pressure Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentage calculations used for determining initial eligibility and basic computer skills Operating proficiency of all office equipment Prior social service experience helpful but not required Consent to and successful review of Limited Criminal History Review Valid Indiana Driver's License and consent to and successful review of a BMV review DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Perform all services as directed by the WIC Coordinator and Site Supervisor; all services to be completed emphasizing excellent customer service Place and answer phone calls related to clinic business, coordinate client scheduling, initiate reminder communication prior to appointments, call same day missed appointments for rescheduling, and update client's information as requested Process and issue benefits and ID folders, instruct clients about the proper use of WIC EBT and assign appointment dates and times Collect, verify, and maintain all program data for initial client eligibility Daily file management including ineligible and terminated files, prescription files, Medicaid List; record and maintain any and all paper and electronic documents Assist applicants with the completion of the WIC signature page including explanation of the 'Consent for Services' paragraph and the 'Rights and Obligations' section Provide referrals for services to clients including written information regarding Medicaid agencies that provide Drug and Substance Abuse counseling and other social service agencies Organize and maintain stock of all office and clinic supplies Provide assistance and client information for departmental needs Communicate effectively with clients and help to broaden nutritional knowledge and skills Assist in clinical evaluation of heights, weights, and hemoglobin data Participate in community activities to promote good public relations and to increase good community awareness of nutritional needs and the services offered by the WIC program Clean and sanitize the lab area daily Respectful of program clients and demonstrate excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette; potential contact with emotionally charged customers and families Work well independently and as a team member Compliant with ICAP's Professional Conduct code and Confidentiality policy Flexibility during periods of program change; must be willing to work overtime including evenings and weekends as needed Must be well organized and detail oriented; complete all program documentation efficiently, accurately and timely General administrative skills and abilities are needed including basic computer skills and ability to learn key websites and other program specific software Attend conferences, meetings, in-service education and staff meetings as directed by WIC Coordinator PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sit for long periods at a desk and computer in a climate controlled office Able to walk, bend, crouch, climb stairs, lift up to 40 lbs.
Exposure to communicable and infectious diseases, spills (liquid and solid), chemical odors; category 1 for exposure to blood and bodily fluids SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
WIC Clerk reports to the WIC Coordinator and/or Site Supervisor.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
